Arts Education Performance Indicators

The Arts Education Performance Indicators (AEPI) Report tracks LA County school districts’ progress in meeting the critical success factors of sound arts education infrastructure: a board-adopted arts education policy and plan, a district-level arts coordinator, and use of general budget funds to support arts education.

The most recent report, released in 2008, shows that arts education for K-12 in Los Angeles County has improved significantly for the first time in more than a generation. Overall, there has been tremendous growth across the region toward building an infrastructure to support sequential K-12 arts education in the 81 school districts in the County. In almost every case the percentage of districts meeting each indicator has nearly doubled since the last report in 2005.
