Arts EducationK-12 EducatorsOverview A key goal of Arts for All is to improve quality of teaching and learning. K-12 educators are vital partners in this initiative, and Arts for All offers a number of resources that link teachers to quality arts education programming for their students and help strengthen professional development in the arts. LAArtsEd.org, an interactive website launched in 2004, provides a number of tools for educators interested in bringing the arts to their classroom:
What’s next The generous support of The Wallace Foundation has made it possible for Arts for All to further develop its support of K-12 educators by expanding LAArtsEd.org with a directory of high-quality professional development providers. Arts for All will also be convening a Higher Education Think Tank to assess of the level of arts education included in teacher preparation and administrative credential programs, and develop models for minimum arts education requirements for pre-service credential programs. More information If you are a K-12 educator and would like to learn more about LAArtsEd.org, or about the Arts for All Higher Education Initiative, please contact Elisha Wilson Beach, Implementation Coordinator, by email or at (213)202-5858.
