Arts Education Roundtable
The Arts for All Arts Education Roundtable is a forum for arts education organizations, teaching artists, and advocates to raise issues pertinent to arts education, advance the work and knowledge of the field, network, and share best practices. Through the Roundtable, Arts for All supports the diverse network of community artists and arts organizations who partner with Los Angeles County schools to ensure all students experience a high quality arts education.
Arts for All offers three different event types through the Arts Education Roundtable.
- Community Conversations – workshops and discussions for the field to have strategic conversations, share and develop knowledge and build collaborations
- Teaching Artist Learning Community – hands-on workshops addressing the needs and interests of teaching artists working in the classroom.
- LA Arts Ed Happy Hours – networking events for the art education community and its advocates

Advisory Board Formed for 2009-10
In the fall of 2009 an Advisory Board comprised of active members of the Arts Education Roundtable was formed to increase the relevancy and value of Roundtable offerings. The Advisory Board meets quarterly to discuss the needs and issues of the field and to inform the design of professional development opportunities.
The 2009-10 Advisory Board members are:
- Leonardo Bravo, Director of School Programs, Music Center
- Inez Bush, Arts Coordinator, Culver City Unified School District
- Connie Covert, Elementary Arts Coordinator, Los Angeles Unified School District
- Tom Crocker, Co-Director, Bluepalm: Art Culture Education
- Suzy Foster, Development and Communications Director, The HeArt Project
- Leslie Johnson, Director of Education and Outreach, Center Theatre Group
- Jay McAdams, Executive Director, 24th Street Theatre
- Jackie Planeix, Co-Director, Bluepalm: Art Culture Education
- Louise Reichlin, Managing and Artistic Director, LA Choreographers and Dancers
Grounded in the guidance provided by the Advisory Board, Arts for All Arts Education Roundtable aims to:
- facilitate strategic thinking about the arts education field
- support collaborations and communication among all members of the arts education field
- contribute to the development of a shared voice among the network of arts providers working across Los Angeles County
Arts Education Roundtable Listserv
Moderated by the Arts Commission, this online forum (through Yahoo Groups) provides an opportunity for LA County based arts education providers to share information. With over 600 members, this is the place to learn about jobs and events in the LA Arts Education community.
